Montreal is a world center for life sciences and health technologies. With 40% of the companies in the Technoparc working in this sector, the Technoparc Montréal is the leading life sciences cluster in Montreal.

The research centers of major life sciences and pharmaceutical companies, as well as SMEs and startups in the industries, are located in the Technoparc, which has quickly become key concentration point for any company wishing to settle not only in the Greater Montreal area, but also in Canada and North America.

A hub for innovation and research

Some of the most advanced programs in Canada for the discovery, development and commercialization of life sciences are in place at Technoparc Montreal, thanks to the presence of adMare BioInnovations, an innovation hub and incubator for life sciences and health technologies. adMare BioInnovations houses the adMare Innovation Centre, which brings together research organizations, biotechnology companies and consultants.

This expertise is complemented by the presence of the Centre d’expertise et de recherche en sciences pharmaceutiques (CERASP) and the National Research Council Canada, which support and fund innovative projects.

INNOVATIVE START-UPS AND SMES

More than 75% of the life sciences companies in the Technoparc are start-ups and SMEs. With strong expertise in biotechnology and drug research, the Technoparc is home to many growing companies, particularly in its two business centers. As such, the two companies SoundBite Medical Solutions and Retina Labs R&D are based there.

STRONG PRESENCE OF INTERNATIONAL COMPANIES

Technoparc Montréal is also home to major international companies in the life sciences and health industry. Just to name a few, Bristol-Myers Squibb, a large American pharmaceutical company, has been present since 2009, Agilent Technologies, an American company that develops and industrializes measuring instruments has been at the Technoparc since 2011, or Grifols, a Spanish pharmaceutical company, which has arrived in 2021.
