Monthly Sustainability Tips & Insights from ERA: Monarch butterflies
In the last 20 years, Monarch butterflies have been facing a decline of over 90%. This drastic decline is happening because they do not have enough habitat to sustain their migration which occurs twice every year. Consequently, they do not have enough nectar to fly. Let’s just say that they lack adequate energy to complete their voyage. If they do not have enough pollen-producing food sources like milkweed and clover, they will not be around for much longer. The sudden absence of monarchs will play a detrimental role for the environment and our way of life! Birds, bats, bees, butterflies, beetles, and other small mammals play an important role in contributing to the health of the planet. These native species help flowers pollinate, are responsible for pollinating plants, producing one third of our food, sustaining our ecosystems and producing our natural resources by helping plants reproduce. Technoparc residents can join the pledge to help monarchs by planting native species and avoiding the use of pesticides. There are many organizations bonding together to help save the monarch butterflies from extinction and you can jump on the band wagon. ERA Environmental has joined forces with the Suppliers Partnership for the Environment on a Monarch Butterfly Conservation Project and planted red and white clover and milkweeds to replace the grass around our building. The borough of St. Laurent has also joined the ranks of municipalities to join the Mayor’s Monarch Pledge program that unites 150 municipalities around North America.

The Monthly Web Advice by Marketing Ultimum:
4 Signs that it’s Time to Rebuild your Website
We all know the importance of having a Website. However, is this site following new trends?
It can sometimes be difficult to know when is the good time to rebuild a Website. Traditionally, it was recommended to update your Website after 3-5 years to stay abreast of new industry practices. However, with new trends and developments adding up at an increasing speed, it may be relevant to recognize the signs that this moment has arrived for you. Here are four signs that it’s time to rebuild your Website:
1 – Loading Time:
If your Website takes more than 6 seconds to load, you are exceeding the current industry standards. In addition, Google promotes sites with fast loading times because of the growing dominance of mobile devices. Internet users are less patient with this type of device.
2 – Mobile Responsive Version:
If your Website does not have a specially optimized version for mobile devices in 2019, it’s a priority. Not only will you be penalized on search engines, but you will also lose engagement with your users if they are unable to view your content on their mobile devices.
3 – Outdated Content:
If your Website contains a considerable amount of obsolete content or content that needs to be updated, it would be appropriate to consider taking advantage of it to give it a brand-new look.
4 – Search Engines:
We have mentioned above aspects that have an impact on your ranking on search engines. These are relevant to the extent that you’re already optimizing your rankings. If this is not the case, it is also a priority, since the Web is an increasingly competitive environment and optimizing your presence is necessary for your customers to find you easily.
If you’d like to learn more about the best practices discussed here or how you can improve your current Website, Marketing Ultimum offers you a free strategic planning session! You can contact their team today: (438) 793-4960 or email: support@marketingultimum.ca. You can also visit their Website.
