Visit from Mexico at the Technoparc

On May 15^th, we welcomed another delegation from Mexico, like the one we had greeted in April. The members of the large delegation were here to learn more about the Technoparc and the quality of life it provides to its residents. They were also interested in the ecological measures taken for the development of our Eco-campus Hubert Reeves, our sustainable and ecofriendly campus targeting companies in cleantech. A great way to communicate our effective actions and strategies in our mission to enrich Montreal’s economy and ecology

Visit of the Turkish Embassy

At the beginning of the month, we had the honor of welcoming a delegation from Turkey, in which the Consul General, the Vice-President of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and the Ambassador Mr. Selçuk Ünal were present. Accompanied by our partners of MTL INTL, we discussed possible collaborations between the 2 countries, mostly in the advanced industries such as life sciences, aerospace, information technologies, clean technologies and pharmaceuticals. We also had the pleasure of presenting the Éco-campus Hubert Reeves, our sustainable and eco-friendly campus targeting clean technology companies. Follow-up visits are already planned to solidify our future collaborations!

Interview with the Cambridge Innovation Center

Early May, we had the honor of interviewing Mr. Stas Gayshan, Managing Director, Cambridge Innovation Center (CIC), Massachusetts. The interview took place at the NEOMED Institute, which we warmly thank for coordinating with Mr. Gayshan. It focuses on innovation centers, the future for co-working in life sciences and other industries, artificial intelligence and many other interesting topics. Return of the food trucks

It’s the warm and beautiful season! After the tire changes, the migration of birds and the snow that melted, it is the return of the food trucks at the Technoparc! This year, we will have a minimum of 3 food trucks every first Thursday of the month. The launch of the season took place on Thursday, May 3rd during the Vélo Fête. Many of you attended… and you will probably be more at the future events. We will have parallel activities at the same time, so keep your eyes on our Facebook page.

K.I.D.S. daycare at Technoparc

For more than fifteen years, K.I.D.S. offers high quality day care at the Technoparc. They include monthly themes, based on their educational curriculum inspired by the STEM approach, including art and music. Specialists come to offer children music, dance, physical education and yoga classes. Their meals are fresh and homemade daily. They have two spacious outdoor courtyards and an indoor gymnasium. Special events are also offered such as the family corn tasting day, the international food fair celebration, the exhibition / vernissage, field trips, and the end-of-year shows and celebrations. 2018 Summer Camps

The Club CDL is pleased to offer you “Technoparc” benefits as part of its 2018 summer camps, from June 25, 2018 to August 24, 2018. They offer three separate camps during the summer: tennis camps, multi-sports camps and dance camps. Register your kid(s) at one of the 3 camps offered and get the following benefits:
-15% discount on their daycare service and / or meal plan.
-A “free” subscription to summer physical activity for any parent who registers their kid(s) at the camp for a minimum of 4 weeks (full payment required at the time of registration).

Coyotes in urban areas

An information session for residents was held in May 2018 at Technoparc Montréal’s offices, in collaboration with the City of Montreal’s Environment and Protection Division. During this workshop, participants were able to learn more about the morphological, behavioral and ecological characteristics of the coyote in urban areas. They were also able to learn about the behaviors to adopt to encourage cohabitation and avoid problematic situations. Each participant came out well informed vis-à-vis their concerns and questions. A great initiative for cohabitation!

Monthly Sustainability Tips & Insights from ERA

ERA Environmental Management Solutions is one of the latest companies to join the Technoparc. Over the next few months, they will be sharing some sustainability tips to our newsletter readers. ERA has been providing EHS consulting for over 20 years, and now that they’re at the Technoparc they are ready to take on some exciting new sustainability projects – and sharing the takeaways with you. Here’s a sampling of the topics ERA will provide advice on:

A pollinator project, featuring bee hives and native flower gardens.

• Finding ways to use refurbished and recycled materials in the workspace.
• Attracting native species and operating in way that does not harm any of the Technoparc’s many animal residents.
• Carbon footprint and energy use reductions – inside and outside the office.
• Responsible waste management, including recycling, composting, and supply chain initiatives.
