$65,000 <\/span>was<\/span> distributed<\/span> in <\/span>two<\/span> exceptional<\/span> prizes<\/span> during<\/span> the <\/span>TechPreneur<\/span> contest<\/span> at the Technoparc Montr\u00e9al. The <\/span>organizing<\/span> partners<\/span> are <\/span>pleased<\/span> to <\/span>announce<\/span> not one, but <\/span>two<\/span> winners. <\/span>Given<\/span> the <\/span>quality<\/span> of the applications, the <\/span>members<\/span> of the jury <\/span>decided<\/span>, <\/span>exceptionally<\/span>, to upgrade the <\/span>contest<\/span> and <\/span>offer<\/span> a second <\/span>prize<\/span> to a high-<\/span>potential<\/span> company<\/span>.<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][\/et_pb_section][et_pb_section fb_built=”1″ _builder_version=”4.12.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_row _builder_version=”4.12.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”4_4″ _builder_version=”4.12.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.12.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]\n

The <\/span>TechPreneur<\/span> contest<\/span> has been <\/span>organized<\/span> by <\/span><\/span>PME MTL Centre-Ouest<\/span><\/span><\/a>, one of <\/span><\/span>PME <\/span>MTL<\/span><\/span><\/a>\u2019s<\/span> six areas of service, the <\/span><\/span>Ville de <\/span>Montr\u00e9al<\/span><\/span><\/a>‘s<\/span> business support network, in collaboration <\/span>with<\/span> <\/span>Desjardins<\/span><\/span><\/a>, the <\/span><\/span>Centre d’expertise industrielle de Montr\u00e9al<\/span><\/span><\/a> (CEI MTL) and the <\/span><\/span>R\u00e9seau Mentorat Montr\u00e9al<\/span><\/span><\/a>. The <\/span>two<\/span> winners <\/span>will<\/span> have to set up shop in the Technoparc Montr\u00e9al area <\/span>this<\/span> year<\/span>.<\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.12.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]\n

Focus on <\/span>health<\/span> technologies <\/span><\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n

With numerous companies from the health industry, from multinationals to start-ups, the Technoparc Montr\u00e9al territory is recognized for its expertise in life sciences. Of the 20 applications submitted to the contest, one third were from the life sciences industry, and the winners are two promising young companies in the health technologies market.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Since its creation, the Technoparc Montr\u00e9al territory has received undeniable interest from small and large players in the high-tech industry, and the number and quality of applications to the competition show just how attractive this territory is for the life sciences and health technology industry,” says Marc-Andr\u00e9 Perron, Executive Director, PME MTL Centre-Ouest.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][et_pb_text _builder_version=”4.12.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]\n

Supporting mental health: Nurau is the grand prize winner<\/strong><\/h2>\n

The winner of the competition is <\/span>Nurau<\/span><\/a>, an organization that believes in mental health for all. By combining micro-training and social connection, Nurau is preventing burnout within companies through revolutionary technology. The goal is to create healthier, more productive corporate environments – one micro experience at a time. Offered to companies as an employee wellness program, Nurau reduces the number of health insurance claims – 80% of which are related to mental health causes. <\/span><\/p>\n

Creation of a second prize for VitalTracer<\/b><\/h2>\n

The jury decided to upgrade its prizes and PME MTL awarded an additional $15,000 grant to <\/span>VitalTracer<\/span><\/a>. The CEI MTL also offered its support to the company with a digital diagnosis and a review of the industrialization of its product. Like all finalists, VitalTracer will have a mentor for one year through the R\u00e9seau Mentorat Montr\u00e9al. <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

VitalTracer convinced the jury with its two smart devices – the VT-Watch and the VT-Patch – which use biomedical sensors to continuously detect patients’ vital signs, such as blood pressure, heart rate, respiratory rate and body temperature.\u00a0\u00a0 <\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=”2_3,1_3″ _builder_version=”4.12.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_column type=”2_3″ _builder_version=”4.12.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”][et_pb_testimonial author=”Azadeh Dastmalchi ” job_title=”CEO and co-founder” company_name=”VitalTracer” _builder_version=”4.12.1″ _module_preset=”default” global_colors_info=”{}”]\n
